A few of us decided we should have a native alumni association. Sure, there is MySpace group, and a Facebook group, but lots of people don’t use social media at all. This is a site that anyone can join, and follow, without needing to create a new profile.

The event that prompted us to reach out and reconnect with everyone is that the Student Government Association at FSU voted on a bill to eliminate the American Indian Student Union. It seems that they cannot find anyone to run the union. We feel a bit of a responsibility to help the current students through the same hurdles we went through.

It’s also pretty sad that we don’t reach out to each other unless some drama is unfolding at the university. This group of alumni has loads of talent, we should be sharing our successes with each other.
